Vicon Lands $2.8M U.S. Federal Government Surveillance Order, Ships This Quarter
Vicon Industries has a $2.8 million federal order on the books — and it ships before the quarter closes.
Cemtrex's security subsidiary announced September 17, 2026, per a GlobeNewswire release, that it has received orders totaling approximately $2.8 million from a U.S. federal government agency, placed through an existing channel partner, for Vicon's video surveillance products and its Valerus video management platform. Shipment is expected within the current fiscal quarter.
"Federal orders of this scale demonstrate that the work at Vicon is converting into results. Government, corrections, and education are demanding environments where reliability wins, and the combination of these orders and the Valerus 26.1 release shows the platform earning that confidence," said Saagar Govil, Chairman and CEO of Cemtrex.
The award follows three prior institutional orders spanning December 2024 through May 2026. In December 2024, Vicon secured a $10.4 million order from a state government corrections facility in the mid-Atlantic region — the largest in Vicon's 57-year history — expected to fulfill in Cemtrex's second fiscal quarter of 2025. In July 2025, a follow-on order exceeding $1.2 million came in for a major Midwestern county government security upgrade. In May 2026, Vicon announced an approximately $2 million correctional facility order in the United Kingdom. The September 17, 2026 U.S. federal award adds to that sequence.
The platform behind these wins, Valerus, received a 26.1 update that includes GPU-accelerated video processing, with forward and reverse playback at speeds up to 1000x directly in the browser. Govil specifically cited government, corrections, and education as the demanding environments where the platform is earning confidence, per the September 17, 2026 release.
On the revenue side, Vicon has grown from $21 million in 2021 to a projected $36 million-plus for fiscal year 2025, per the company's own disclosure. The company added over 60 new resellers in fiscal 2025. Gross margins have improved over the same period, according to the release.
Cemtrex's balance sheet as of December 31, 2024 showed $5.5 million in cash, cash equivalents, and restricted cash, up from $5.4 million at September 30, 2024. Inventories stood at $11.1 million at December 31, 2024, compared to $7.0 million at September 30, 2024.
Beyond Vicon, Cemtrex operates Advanced Industrial Services in its Industrial segment and Invocon in its Aerospace & Defense segment, providing mission-critical engineering and sensing solutions for aerospace, defense, and space programs. CETX and CETXP trade on Nasdaq.
What's next, per the release: the $2.8 million in orders ships this fiscal quarter. The Valerus 26.1 platform update is live.
